Mama, Kiss It

My littles teach me a lot about faith. When we ask God for healing, it's easy to assume that everything will be all better immediately but difficult to trust His timing and process.

We went hiking today, and it was marvelous. I’ve been loving the moody B&W photos lately, but these colors stunned me and I couldn’t bear to mute them! (swipe right).
SEVEN years ago this kid surprised the breath out of me when he came one month early. Today I got to surprise him!
Just less than one month ago we began our homeschool. It felt anticlimactic... more home, a little more structure but mostly the same spaces, and each other’s faces every day. Some days I am not so sure we’re doing enough work, while others I’m certain I planned too much. And this whole situation was definitely in my “never-will-I-ever” list, but somehow and all in all it has been good. One whole month later and we’re still ok with this.
The other day, leaves fell from the tree and breezed across my cheek. I looked up, from books and heated conversations and journaling... to feel the season change. “But where did it go?” I thought that for months. So before I step wholly into autumn, I want to acknowledge summer.
This man @daddyrayford has been a father, officially, for just less than one year. And my-oh-my am I in love with him more every minute. Yet, it has not been entirely smooth, stepping aside to let him parent, too.
This photo was taken almost exactly one year ago. I was about to marry my Davin, and over the moon. The dating & engagement were just as short as we wanted them to be, and we followed that current in and out of many more transitions.
